The practice of yoga was originally designed not as a form of exercise but as a tool to slow breathing, relax the mind, and prepare for extended meditation. While yoga is an excellent method for strengthening and toning the body, its benefits go far beyond physical fitness. Yoga helps regulate breath, decrease heart rate, improve circulation, promote deeper sleep, balance mood, enhance positive thinking, manage stress, and improve concentration.
Yoga therapy is a holistic approach that connects the mind, body, and soul on multiple levels. As confidence grows through this practice, symptoms of anxiety and depression often decrease, allowing us to live more peaceful and fulfilling lives.
Psychotherapy focuses on the brain—understanding cognitive patterns and the reasons behind our behaviors. However, after becoming a certified yoga instructor in 2006, I began incorporating yoga therapy into my practice to offer clients a more comprehensive path to transformation. By increasing awareness of the body's signals, clients can better manage anxiety, depression, and trauma, ultimately finding inner peace and balance.
Whether you're an experienced yogi or have never heard of an upward-facing dog, I’m here to guide you. I offer a safe, private environment where you can roll out your mat, and I’ll design a sequence of postures tailored to your needs at that time. You'll leave each session with a sketch or handout of what you’ve learned so you can continue practicing at home.
